Cabo San Lucas Landmarks and Monuments: View of the Land's End 'El Arco' formationFilled with natural landmarks and a number of prominent monuments, the city of Cabo San Lucas has plenty of character, particularly around its coastline. Located on the far southerly side of the Baja peninsula, Land's End is a particularly famous landmark in Cabo San Lucas and often visited by tourists, being known for its exceptional views and great photo opportunities.

Amongst the most significant religious landmarks in Cabo San Lucas is the Church of San Lucas Iglesia de San Lucas. Built almost 300 years ago, the church itself has been well maintained over the years and is in good order, boasting many original features. Further historical landmarks and interesting monuments include both the ruined Old Lighthouse (El Faro Viejo) and also the Casa de la Cultura, which features a tall mirador tower, surrounded by beautiful gardens and overlooking all of Cabo.

One of the most noteworthy natural landmarks in Cabo San Lucas, Land's End is sited close to Medano Beach and the Lover's Beach (Playa del Amante). Visitors will be able to enjoy interesting rock structures and formations shaped by the elements, such as the famous natural arch 'El Arco', along with a neighbouring colony of sea lions, which are usually easy to spot.

The historic Iglesia de San Lucas lies in downtown Cabo San Lucas, where it has become an important parish church and regularly used by the surrounding community. Services are held each Sunday at 12:00 and 19:00, and also on Saturday at 19:00.

The Old Lighthouse, known locally in Cabo San Lucas as 'El Faro Viejo' was constructed more than 100 years ago and was once an imposing landmark. Today, little more than the actual base of the lighthouse remains, offering just a glimpse of what once stood here. Many tourists come here for the outstanding coastal views alone and also to visit the adjacent beach, where sea turtles are known to nest during their breeding season.

The Casa de la Cultura is a famous local landmark with distinctive Colonial-style architecture and enjoys a fairly elevated setting in downtown Cabo San Lucas. Dating back more than 150 years, this historic structure is known for its pink facade and was once used to house resident Americans during the war between the USA and Mexico in the middle of the 19th century. Today, the Casa de la Cultura is used for entertainment purposes and houses a theatre, which regularly hosts a series of events, including live music and exhibitions, with the entrance sited on Ninos Héroes.
